Blog directories are huge databases where many websites are listed under many categories and subcategories. In some blog directories you can post your whole website and in some directories individual pages cannot be posted. Most blog directories are free to submit. Some paid websites are also there who have their own interests .Blog directories are not search engines and they don’t display the website based on keywords, instead it lists the websites based on categories. There are many types of directories. Some of them are listed below

Free submission - Here you may not have to pay money for listing or reviews of the site.
Paid submission - Here you have to pay yearly or once for listing or review of the site.
Submission with reciprocal link - In order to get listed in the directory a link back to the directory must be added somewhere on the submitted site.
Submission with no follow attribute (not recommended) - Search engine will give no weight to your website.
Featured listing - The link is given a premium position in a category (or multiple categories) or other sections of the directory, such as the homepage. Sometimes called sponsored listing.

Steps to submit your website in a Directory

Select a directory with high domain ratings.
Choose appropriate or related category and subcategory in which your website fits.
Then find submit links, all listing, Suggest listing, Add site, Submit Website etc. in the directory page.
Fill all the details like Title, URL, Description, Meta tags, Email, RSS feed URL etc. These are pre-submission work. We have to keep these things ready in a notepad to submit.
After filling the details click submit.
Verify your email if necessary.
